The 2009 Homegrown Music Festival was held on 14th of March 2009. Set across 5 stages along the waterfront, 35 of New Zealand's premier bands and DJ's performed from 12:30pm to 11:00pm.

The 2010 edition was called Vodafone Homegrown after the sponsors, Vodafone. Homegrown 2010 was held on 20th February, with the line-up announcement on 14th September 2009 and tickets going on sale 21 September 2009.

The 2011 edition has been named Jim Beam Homegrown after the sponsors, Jim Beam. Homegrown 2011 will be held on 5th March 2011, adding a Pop and RnB stage and more acts than previous years.

This will be Blindspott's first gig since reforming.
This will be one of Nesian Mystik's last ever gigs.
The Redbull Amphitheatre Stage is free to everyone, even if you don't have a ticket.
The 2012 edition will be on Saturday February the 18th 2012. 20 more acts are to be named on the 31st of October 2011. The first 2,500 tickets have sold out. Signs are that it could be a 5th consectutive sell out.
